5 Design Ideas to Improve a Tiny Bathroom

Bathroom Remodeling Jun 22

If your bathroom has a limited space, it might be difficult to put everything in it without making it look cramped. For instance, it is very challenging to decide where to put the sink or the toilet if your bathroom is tiny. Moreover, it is tough to find additional clearance to install your shower and ensure that taking a bath in your bathroom is still comfortable. If the tiny bathroom is pre-designed and it does not meet your requirements, you should hire an expert who does remodeled tiny bathrooms. Still, the final decision is yours so to help you out, here are some design ideas to make your tiny bathroom look better

1.Put the sink in a corner

Tell your contractor to install the sink in a corner to help avoid disrupting bathroom traffic especially if the space inside is limited. Putting the sink in a corner is better than putting it in the center as that saves more space where you can put other stuff in. It is best to avoid putting the sink near the shower because the shower door can be an awkward area that hampers movement inside the bathroom

2.Forget the shower door; use a curtain

A shower door takes a lot of space compared to a shower curtain. Since their purpose is the same, it is better to go for the curtain. The shower curtain moves from side to side while the shower door moves in and out, which takes up more space

3.Extend the counter over the toilet

Your sink will most likely come with a counter where you can put your bathroom essentials in. Sometimes, the surrounding area of the sink does not give ample space for the counter. What you can do to solve this is to allow the counter to extend over the toilet. The extended counter can provide additional space for your bathroom essentials. The area where the toilet is installed will not be affected greatly and the extended counter will provide a minimalist appeal

4.Choose to have a large-scale pattern

When it comes to the walls of the bathroom, tell your contractor to put a large-scale pattern to make your tiny bathroom look more spacious. You can go for a wide stripe design, which gives an illusion of an expanded space. Also, while the actual space may be the same, the vibe of the room will be more spacious

5.Use a bigger mirror

It is recommended that in tight space, choose to have a bigger mirror. The reflection in the mirror creates an illusion of more space. Moreover, a bigger mirror allows two people to see themselves at the same time, which is ideal for a bathroom with a tight space like yours

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.

Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen

We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.

We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.

We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
