Dreaming of a Bathroom Remodel?
Bathroom Remodeling Mar 13
Lots of people wish their bathroom and changing area was updated, and they simply dream about remodeling it, but they never take the plunge to get it done. When Kitchen designers in Livonia talked to their clients who did a bathroom remodel, they learned that over 90% of the people who went through the remodel with a bathroom designer wished they had done it years prior. A remodeled bathroom can add enjoyment to everyday life.
Convenience and Comfortable Living
The added convenience to everyday living with a bathroom remodel is immeasurable. Let’s face it, people spend each day getting ready in their bathroom, and having it laid out to perfection for a family’s needs really adds to a more pleasurable life, and easier everyday living. Truth is that the dreaming stage of re-doing a bathroom is sometimes quite daunting. People think about the perfect way for their bathroom layout to look, they think about conveniences, such as pullout drawers in the vanity, or heated mirrors, heated tile floors, the list goes on and on.
Where to turn for help?
Bathroom remodel designers in Livonia can walk clients through what their choices are because they are abreast of all the new materials, and vanity countertops, and they can suggest remodeling ideas that the client may have never dreamed of.
Trends for lasting beauty
One of the trends in bathroom remodels lately centers around brass finishes. Believe it or not, brass is making a comeback. Brass in the bathroom can make the ordinary seem like a royal castle. Brass adds charm and grace to the most used room in the house—the master bath. Another popular trend in bathroom remodeling is adding a freestanding bathtub. Freestanding sinks have been popular the past few years, and now this trend is moving over to the tub. Bathroom designers in Livonia can help design a bathroom with a more updated look by using stone resin for the latest trend, a freestanding tub. Freestanding tubs are available in a myriad of shapes, sizes, and colors. A freestanding tub constructed of stone resin has a stunning look and feel to it. Aesthetically, freestanding tubs give a modern and updated look to bathrooms, keeping them vibrant and stylish. A freestanding tub not only makes a statement, it can accommodate anyone’s body, because the manufacturers mold the tubs to be ergonomically sound so individuals are able to stretch out and soak for a lengthy, luxurious bath without putting stress on pressure points in the body, neck, or shoulders. Molded to fit curves and support the spine, the ergonomic tub will allow people to let go of stress, and relax the body and mind.
Comfort and Addressing Mobility Issues
Other bathroom remodel ideas can be discussed with bathroom remodeling professionals in Livonia, and one popular enhancement for the bathroom includes the no-threshold shower. This feature is very popular because it will open seamlessly into the bathroom for a sleek, modern aesthetic, while helping eliminate the step up, or step over, which is a common tripping spot, especially if people have mobility issues. When it comes to mobility issues, a professional bathroom remodeler can literally be a lifesaver when people need to remodel their bath for not only aesthetics, but for accommodating disabilities or aging situations. Adding grab bars, or a comfort height toilet can help individuals with mobility issues. A comfort height toilet is a stool with bowl height measured from floor to top of the seat coming in at 17 to 19 inches high. The Americans with Disabilities Act established this guideline to assist people with disabilities, but it is also helpful for people who are tall in stature. The higher seat makes it easier for people to sit and stand up, and as people age, this is a key factor.
Vanities and Various Looks that are Popular
As for the vanity, simplicity is always in vogue. Clean lines will add a spa-like appearance to the bath, and keep the area upscale and updated. A modern look, with minimal hardware, and a simple, uncluttered countertop, is a popular trend in bathroom vanities. For the countertops on vanities, marble adds luxury and style to the bathroom. It is durable, on-trend, and will literally last a lifetime. For both contemporary or traditional décor, marble works well. Bathroom designers in Livonia can give clients many ideas about how to optimize the look of marble for functionality and for aesthetics. On the other end of the spectrum, another style is naturally-inspired wood used in bathroom vanities. Reclaimed and unfinished woods, natural edges and rustic looks add a flair of nature and a serene feel in the bathroom. This look is spectacular when paired with sleek, shiny countertops, upscale mirrors, and shiny metallic hardware. Open shelving is another bathroom remodeling trend showing up this year, and while clients might not want to keep their toiletries out in plain sight, designers can help create an elegant arrangement on open shelving in vanities. Shelving can serve as a great storage space for lotion, shower items, towels, extra toilet paper, or decorative accents or baskets for storage. A contemporary look for vanities is the “floating” vanity, perfect for making a chic,en vogue statement. This ultra-sleek look adds visual interest, and either textured finishes or rustic wood can serve as the base. Using mirrors and mirrored finishes is an effective way to visually expand the room, making it look larger. This is an idea bathroom remodeling professionals can suggest for a small scale bathroom. Using mirrored finishes adds an element of glamour —especially if one goes for a fully-mirrored vanity.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.
Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen
We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.
We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.
We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
