Modern Kitchen Remodeling Tips
Kitchen Remodeling Aug 9

There is a subtle elegance in having a modern kitchen. The minimalist area, neutral color palette, and metallic highlights look amazing and they really never go out of style. In a way, they easily integrate different design aspects. Even if you have a modern space, you can still combine some traditional hints here and there. If you want to transform your home in Livonia into something like this, keep in mind these modern kitchen remodeling tips.
1.White countertops and cabinets
Having white countertops and cabinets add a sleek look. In a way, having these provides a glamorous shine that really attracts anyone who sees them. It gives off a modern vibe that makes anyone feel at home. Aside from style, these countertops and cabinets are extremely functional. You can use them to store almost anything you need to cook and serve a meal. Moreover, white countertops and cabinets appear neat and clean, which is something that you would want for your home.
2.Metallic accents
Simple white countertops and cabinets work but they can get plain and boring over time. What you can do to make them more interesting without breaking the modern appeal is to add stainless steel highlights. If you can frame the cabinet doors and countertops with stainless steel then do so. If not, add other metallic accents in some other way like installing stainless steel dome pendant lights. Adding some glass element can complement the metallic accents. Moreover, they can help brighten up the room.
3.Warm wood
It is good to add warm wood elements to make the room feel less fabricated and cramped. You can opt to have intricately designed wooden cabinet doors that make the space feel more comfortable. You can also opt to have wooden lining on some cooking equipment like your range or cooktop.
4.Gold elements
A good match to metallic accents is gold elements. You do not have to stick to stainless steel and silver, putting something in gold can amp up the modern appeal of a room. You can choose to have a gold-leaf-finished island or you can have chairs with golden accents. Most people would think this would not work but it does.
5.Combine rustic and mid-century
As mentioned, a modern room does not mean dismissing rustic and mid-century elements. Apparently, there are country homes that show off nice modern rooms. To do so, you can choose bar stools with rustic appeal and add them to the mix.
6.More natural materials
A modern space can make full use of more natural materials. You can have cabinets, countertops, and sinks outfitted with natural materials.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.
Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen
We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.
We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.
We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
