New Kitchen Remodeling Ideas
Kitchen Remodeling Jun 14

In the past, the kitchen was usually part of the back of the house, unexposed to most people, especially guests. It was an area where meals were cooked, dirty dishes were washed, and food items were stocked. Nowadays, the kitchen has become a central part of the home, which is why homeowners are starting to do kitchen remodeling in Utica to turn it into an area where people can also gather and socialize. Hence, newly remodeled kitchens look more welcoming and have an area where people can mingle while others prepare food. So, if you want to transform your kitchen into an area of function and networking, then here are new kitchen remodeling ideas to consider.
1.Smart kitchen
Technology is no longer just limited to smartphones, tablets, and computers. Now, even kitchen appliances can be smart. Moreover, various smart technologies can be integrated in the kitchen that will allow you to have better control of the area, such as turning the lights on or off, or adjusting the settings of the refrigerator.Smart technology is causing an evolution in the kitchen. Homeowners can now buy smart gadgets to make the kitchen easier to work in and safer as well. For older kitchens, smart tech can be easily integrated to take the kitchen up a notch. For instance, a motion detector can be installed in the faucet for easier use and to help manage water usage.
2.White, gray, or dark paint for cabinets
When it comes to cabinets, white remains the top choice because it makes the area look clean and bright. Different shades of gray are gaining popularity because they give a dash of elegant appeal. Meanwhile, dark colors help in breaking up the monotonous vibe of white and gray. Therefore, these colors make the kitchen look more interesting.
3.Textures on countertops and floors
Use of texture is becoming the trend in kitchen remodeling projects. Since the color palette of modern kitchens may seem boring, adding texture to the countertops and floors can help break the boring look. With this, you can get patterned tiles for your countertops or floor. Use of natural stone in recommended since it is easy to sculpt, bevel, and stack together. In some cases, you can use textured wood for cabinets.
4.Use different storage options
Simply sticking to the use of cabinets as storage is a thing of the past. They are not only boring, they are also a waste of space at times. The use of cabinets and basic shelves can mean a lot of unused space. Some solutions used in modern kitchens include an appliances garage for small kitchen appliances, drawers for cutleries, a rotating rack for spices, and rollout trays for pots and pans.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.
Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen
We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.
We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.
We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
