Range Purchasing Guide
Kitchen Remodeling Nov 14
Those who are doing a kitchen remodeling project in Utica, are probably wondering about what appliance to purchase. Some may have decided that a range is their best choice, yet they may be far from the final decision, as they may feel like there is a whole lot they have to learn about them first. This article is here to help with that. Gas VS Electric Those who do not have a gas supply to their place, and have no plan of getting one during their kitchen remodeling in Utica, don’t have a whole lot to think of here. However, those who can do both, have to consider their cooking preferences, as well as their budget before making this decision. One thing to remember is that electric ranges tend to be less expensive than gas ranges, though gas ranges cost less as far as operation goes. Also, many people prefer to go for gas ranges because they like the burner flames as a visual gauge for temperature, being better able to heat things quite fast. Those who bake a lot, on the other hand, may prefer electric ovens since those provide more consistent heat. Size Just like with any other appliance, one should consider the size of their range. This is important to decide since the contractors will have to know just how big a space to leave for the range. Standard ranges tend to be about 30 inches wide, while dual fuel ones are anywhere from 36 to 48 inches wide. One should consider how big their family is, as the number of people for whom one will be cooking will play a big role in making this decision. Color Ranges are typically available only in shades of black, stainless steel, and white. Those who want some specific colors, such as green, red or blue, will have to look at pro-style ranges. Features There are plenty of features that can be incredibly helpful, going from having lots of rack positions, which allows individuals to create more room in their oven for especially tall items. Something else that is very helpful for electric stovetops is hot surface lights since the last thing one will want is to get burned because they didn’t realize the surface was hot. Double ovens are yet another great feature, as it allows one to cook at different temperatures. In addition, a high heat burner is really great for those who want to heat large quantities of food quickly.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.
Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen
We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.
We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.
We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
