Rooms That can Use a Vanity

Bathroom Remodeling Tips for homeowners Oct 23

While every bathroom needs a vanity, not all vanities are limited in use to the bathroom. Indeed, if the homeowner applies a little bit of creativity, they can vastly improve the practicality of their home by strategically adding a vanity in a room that needs it. The following are rooms that can use a vanity.

Bathroom

Obviously, the primary place that a vanity belongs is in the bathroom. Indeed, a bathroom depends on the vanity in order to perform its basic tasks. When it comes to bathroom vanities, homeowners have a wide variety of materials to choose from, each depending on their specific preferences and budget. For those looking to save, there are attractive finishes available in laminate and ceramic. For homeowners with the option of spending more, there are sophisticated natural stone materials, like granite, quartz, and marble, to give the bathroom a luxurious touch. At the end of the day, aesthetics depend entirely on preference. What's fundamentally important is that it be installed in the proper location and at the right height so as to allow for ease of use.

Master Bedroom

Once the main bathroom is taken care of, homeowners can look to building their master bedroom in order to maximize the comfort and convenience of their daily lives. A master bedroom is made to be entirely customizable by the homeowner, so the vanity should suit their specific style.

Makeup Room

A makeup room, otherwise known as a powder room, is where homeowners ensure that they look their best, and they'll need a proper vanity to do so. Marble materials, specifically white marble, are traditionally used in elegant makeup rooms to provide a bold finish. However, there are of course a number of material options available for a makeup room vanity, including onyx, stainless steel, brass, and wood.

Guest Bedroom

If the homeowners can afford it, they can greatly increase the comfort level of their guests by accommodating them with their own bedroom, equipped with its own bathroom. Most designers agree that a guest bathroom should incorporate a simple design concept, without including any alienating elements. With that in mind, a neutral-toned vanity material — such as a monotone quartz - is a safe fit for a guest bathroom.

Entrance

Whether it's for homeowners to have a last look at themselves before leaving the house, or for guests when entering, installing a mirrored vanity in the entrance is a great addition to a practical home. While entrance vanities shouldn't have all the features of a bathroom or makeup room vanity (chairs, additional mirrors, etc.), it should at least have a mirror, with a few small drawers to store important items.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.

Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen

We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.

We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.

We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
