Vanities are the perfect way to help you set off your bathroom. Whether you have a small style bathroom or it's a more medium-spaced area, your vanity gives the bathroom style and elegance. If you decide to remodel this spot, think of how a good vanity will add much needed design and function to the overall room. This will create more value and give your bathroom a certain edge. Here are some tips to select the right vanity.

Choose the Size You Want for Your Bathroom

While you figure out the dimensions to your bathroom, be realistic about the size. You want a vanity big enough to be a focal point, but need to make sure you have ample room to move around. Have your contractor take good measurements so they account for a few key elements. One, they should look at the width in regards to creating doors. This is so you'll have enough room to open shelves or cupboard doors. Two, knowing the boundaries between the vanity and the bathtub. You want to be able to move in clear lane. Three, knowing the height of the vanity compared to your windows, the sink, medicine cabinet, and mirrors. Once you’ve decided that portion, you can choose the of number sinks needed.

Getting the Perfect Sink

It's important that you find the right sink. You can pick vessel, drop in, or even an undermount. If your bathroom is spacious, it might be a good idea to get two sinks. This way you can use it at the same time as your spouse when you get ready for work in the morning. Be conscious of how much room you have on the countertop. Make the sink a reasonable size in case you decide to place things on the counter. Remember, you want a good balance between design and function. Now, you should have an idea of how your vanity stands.

How to Mount Your Vanity

While you have a number of styles to choose, a contractor will probably recommend a style that goes with the plumbing in your bathroom. This will make it easier to install and the finishing touches will look much neater. If your bathroom is small, a wall mount would work well because it takes up little space. If you want something bigger, a freestanding one works best because you can have it setup with different legs and fit more items in the vanity. When you think of mounting your vanity, does it come with faucets and other fixtures? Or will you buy/install them separately? Your contractor can help you find the best options for your style. These are a few tips to help make selecting a vanity much easier. Know how this will fit in the overall look and feel of your bathroom.

From start to finish Kurtis was a great company to work with. From the initial contact and design concept with Gregory Holster to the cabinet drop off team, the install team led by project manager Jeff Tuomi and the countertop company, the project was on time and all work was performed beyond expectations. This was greatly appreciated seeing as it was completed on December 23. All the people involved were professional and did an excellent job.

Shanna was our project consultant. Picking out cabinets along with counters can be somewhat overwhelming but her knowledge & experience helped us make the right decisions. Dylan & Juwan unloaded truck & Dylan check off ship ticket to make sure all boxes were accounted for. Courteous & pleasant to talk to…nice job of stacking everything neatly in our garage. We couldn't be more pleased with the service & so happy with our kitchen

We recently worked with Lauren on cabinetry for a master bathroom renovation. She was great to work on the design and selections. Lauren was efficient and responsive from cabinet selection through ordering. Our overall installation was smooth. We had some unforeseen circumstances impacting our ability to accept delivery of our cabinets on the initial agreed upon date. Kurtis was very accommodating in rescheduling delivery given our project challenges. We couldn't be happier with our cabinets for this project.

We had complete renovations to our kitchen and main bathroom. From start to finish, the design with Shanna was exactly what we asked for and Jeff stayed on top of the renovations, communicating each step of the way. Every worker was professional and the final product is elegant and functional. We were very happy with Kurtis and would choose Shanna and Jeff again.

We love our new kitchen! Kurtis Kitchen & Bath did an outstanding job, and Adrian at the Clarkston location was exceptional to work with—creative, patient, and really listened to what we wanted. The project was well-organized, and we went from demo to a fully functioning kitchen in just 30 days. Highly recommend!
